6.2.2. Currency

Under “Currency” you can create and edit the currencies that should be used in your web shop. When you click on “Currency” you get a list of all the currencies that you have created.
From the list you can see the name (title) of any given currency, a symbol and a rate. The rate is used to calculate the prices for your products.

5.8.2.1. Create new currency

Below we go through how you can create a new currency for your web shop.

Example – Create new currency

In the following we go through an example of how you can create a new currency. As an example we create “Swedish kroner”. We imagine that we have already created “Danish kroner” and “Euro”, and that we now want “Swedish kroner” to be available to our customers.

1. Create new currency
To create a new currency you need to select “Currency” under the “Control Panel” fan. Then you click on “Create new currency”. This brings up a screen which needs to be filled in.

2. Title*
In the field “Title” you need to enter the title (name) of the currency. Here we enter “Swedish kroner”.

3. Symbol*
In the field “Symbol” you need to enter the symbol you want to be shown next to the price. We enter “SEK”.

4. Symbol placement*
In the field “Symbol placement” you select if the symbol should be placed to the left or the right of the price. We choose “right” as we wish that the symbol should be to the right of the price.

5. Rate*
In the field “Rate” you should enter the rate to be used when calculating product prices.

6. Number of decimals*
In the field “Number of decimals” you can select how many decimals should be shown by the products’ prices. Here we select “2”.

7. Decimal separator*
In the field “Decimal separator” you need to select a decimal separator. We do not change the standard setting, because we want a “comma” before the decimals.

8. Thousands separator*
In the field “Thousands separator” you need to select a thousands separator. We do not change the standard setting, because we want a “period” to indicate the number of thousands.

10. Done
You are now finished – click “Create”.
