4.9. Discount codes

Discount codes are a smart function you can use to give selected customers a discount. The discount is withdrawn as early as the ordering process, where the customer should enter their discount code in the shopping cart. It can be an amount or a percentage.

 

Example – Create discount code


In the following example we go through how you can create a discount code. As an example we create “Fair discount”. We imagine we are at a T-shirt fair, where we would like to give out a special discount for potential customers we meet at the fair – though a maximum of 50 T-shirts..
 

 

1. Create discount code
To create a discount code you need to select “Create discount code” under the “Web shop” fan. A screen will then appear that needs to be filled in.

2. Title
In the field ”Title” you need to enter a name for the discount code. This name will appear when the discount code is entered in the shopping cart and will also be on the order form. Here we enter “T-shirt fair” so it has a meaningful name to the customer.

3. Entry code*
In the field “Entry code” you should enter the code you want your customer to use to get the discount. Here we enter a random number- and letter combination “spw30g”.

4. Type*
In the field “Type” you can choose if the discount should be a percentage or an amount. We select “Percent”.

5. Discount*
In the field “Discount” you should enter the size of the discount. Because we want to give 15% discount to the potential customers at the fair, we enter “15”.

6. Maximum use*
In the field “Maximum use” you need to enter how many times the discount can be used. Remember that this number is for all customers (not per customer). We want the discount to be used 50 times, so we select “50 times” in the list.

7. Done 
You are now finished – click on “Create”.
